Here is a list of all other races and species from The Otherworld. There will be more added to the list as Kelley Armstrong continues to write.

Druid:
A person with powers that can invocate gods and goddesses from the Celtic Pantheon. Each of these gods have an area of expertise, and a Druid will choose a god according to this. They deity is able to act like a guardian and lend its powers to the druid when necessary. Important fact: a Druid must be able to speak the invocation. If the druid is gagged or unable to talk the invocation will not work.

Human:
Humans have no powers or supernatural strengths or abilities. Need I explain more?

Necromancer:
These are human's who have the ability to contact the dead, as well as be contacted by the dead. The spirit will be able to communicate through the Necromancer upon rituals with specific talismans or tools used by the individual Necromancer. Most Necromancers must be near the graveside or dead body in order to contact it, or very rarely, raise them from the dead.

The downfall of this is that most Necromancers who live till older age become insane and no longer able to control the spirits that try to contact them. As well, a Necromancer is dependent totally on their tools in order to willingly communicate with any kind of spirit.

Sorcerer:
Always male, they originated from powerful magicians who passed down their knowledge, as well as some Witch knowledge, through grimoires. The genes can only be passed down from father to son. There are several Sorcerer establishments, known as Cabals, where they are run by powerful families and basically have a powerful business.

Sorcerers are powerful in areas of mind control, damage caused by magic, and any defensive or aggressive spell work. They do not get along with Wicthes or most other races unless they are employing them do something for them. They must work their magic from the simplest spell to the hardest; they are not just born with the knowledge but require great parctise and patience to be powerful.

Vampire:
These species are nothing like those written about in common folklore and fables. They can live and go about in sunlight, their bodies can regenerate from attacks and are not immortal. They are not super-human but are very difficult to kill and they do not age. They also have remarkable charm and personalities which makes them hard to resist.

They do not kill people they know, and do not always have to feed from a human. They are able to ingest animal blood, but in order to be at their highest strength, they must feed from humans.

When they bite, or feed from someone, their saliva renders the person unconscious and then heals the bite wound once the Vampire is done. The humans never really remember what happened to them.

Werewolf:
In order to become a werewolf, you must either be born with the genes, or be bitten. If you are born into it, the first change comes on at puberty. The problem that arises when someone is bitten is that most werewolves chose not to change humans. If they go after you, they most likely intend to kill you. However, those that do survive the attacks will turn into a werewolf themselves.

The first change is difficult, painful and often life-threatening. You are copmletely dependent on the kindness of those around you, and are in such agony you cannot defend yourself. However, all other changes, upon practise, become much simpler and easy to control. Werewolves do not change at a full moon, but can change at will and as often as they like.

Similar to Vampires, Werewolves age slowly; however they do age and are not immortal. When they change, they do not resemble man-beasts but look just like over-sized wolves. The colour of the fur and eyes often relate to how one looks as a human; blonde with blue eyes may turn into white or blonde fur with blue eyes.

Werewolves either like in a Pack, or are Mutts. Meaning, when they do not belong to a Pack, they are on their own or with a partner. There are only a handful of Packs spread out across North America, and all are powerful, wealthy, private and run by an Alpha Male.

*(In the books, Elena is an anomoly as she is the only female werewolf. However, in this RPG females can be werewolves.)*

Witch:
Witches are strong mentally. They are only female, and pass the gene on through from mother to daughter. Their spells are only defensive and non-aggressive. They excel at healing spells, telepathy, concealment, binding and the ability to sense powers in those around, to name a few. Witches may also be part-demon so they can use their demon powers and skills. As with a Sorcerer, all Witch magics are learned through a grimoire.

Like with a Werewolf, all Witches fall into two categories: Coven or Non-Coven. A Coven is a group of powerful Witches who are in a position of power. They are all women who try to lead all Witches to live properly and not to become too violent with their powers.
